Okay guys.

Some people have been suggesting some seriously awesome stuff and I need your feedback before I start working on it.

First thing, is a possible blog implementation. Such as blogs.fursonaonline.net

And the second thing ( Which I think can be great ) is Groups / Clans whatever.
Basically, if a person wants to start a group they will need a post limit. Then they submit a group request …

Surrealism Empty
PostSubject: Surrealism   Surrealism EmptySun Oct 03, 2010 7:40 am

The other day I was sketching in my pad unconsciously and I ended up with some pretty weird results, results which im not sure will apply to this genre or even fit into a sub category.

I just want others peoples thoughts on this, have you every drawn something completely opposite of the correct anatomy we are supposed to go by? Have you ever drawn your wolf with such thin long legs that other people might think you are mentally ill?

Surrealism, in the furry genre. Is it acceptable?

Of course it's acceptable! D: I love altering the typical muscular anatomy of wolves.

There are boundaries to what I draw (too muscular wolves, too skinny wolve)- I like to make it a subtle surrealism that only more knowledgable artists can spot- but surrealism can include the extremes of art, such as skinny legs or fat legs. :3 It depends on what you feel like doing or how you want to do it. xD

It will most certainly get you some criticism (I've been trolled before about my unrealistic muscular structure), but honestly you should draw how you feel like drawing, and that should be final. You don't need to defend your art because it's yours-you decide what to do with it.

Surrealism is a very fun and interesting genre, especially because it can be so weird. C: Applying it to realistic concepts (such as anatomy) is not a new idea, and shouldn't be treated as an ignorant/stupid/"lazy artist" genre. (Most people assume I draw surrealism because I'm too lazy to draw realistically- the opposite is true; realism is very fun to draw as well, but I get tired of the repitition of the anatomical structure of this or that animal, or the "rules" on lighting and shading.)

I hope I made some form of sense xD
