Heres a comment from a chat between me and Thunderflight.

Some people have been suggesting some seriously awesome stuff and I need your feedback before I start working on it.

First thing, is a possible blog implementation. Such as blogs.fursonaonline.net

And the second thing ( Which I think can be great ) is Groups / Clans whatever.
Basically, if a person wants to start a group they will need a post limit. Then they submit a group request …

Okay guys.

Basically, if a person wants to start a group they will need a post limit. Then they submit a group request to a place whch I will specify, groups will have their own username colour and will have their own special hidden section of the forum which only the group members can see.

That can make a huge opening for stuff like team battles, art battles and all other group related competitions.

I plan to make this community as interactive as possible. And V2 will be awesome I promise you.

Please post here and give feedback on these ideas and even give me some more ideas that you would like to see in V2

@ Last Blessing: I don't think that's what she means. xD Clans would be the same as Groups, and if there was only FIVE groups on a site, it would be completely unfair to the other members. ;n; Woot for warriors! Razz

Well, theres that method... or I could have members vote on names for 5 different clans to join? Either that, or the requirements to join a group or make a group will be pretty high, because its alot of work and will take alot of storage.

Well I can put a chatbox at the top of the forum, or I can create an IRC channel and client. What would be better?
I think maybe a forum chatbox would be more practical.

@3@ It's not easy to tell what gender people are online (though I should've checked your profile, winter; my bad. D: )

I mean, everyone would like to make a group/clan of their own. If you mean to be similar to the dA group system (or any art website system really), it would be fair to everyone to allow everyone to make a group.

However, you're right; there'd be a lot of activity within each subgroup. do we really want only five groups? What would they be- based on the elements? Like Earthclan, Fireclan, Windclan, Waterclan, and LightningClan? (I would so join LightningClan dudes.) Or...well, I mean, what'd it be based on? xDD

We probably need more ideas for this. Plus I think it's obvious so far from the votes that the members want some groupness. :3

Agreed, well give it a bit more time, then I will actually let members vote how they want the group system to be run. If they want individual groups, and they use them its fine ill buy more space no problem. But say if theres 30 day inactivity, its gone.

I think something like that would be fair.

IRC are usually more easy to manage than Shoutbox, since you can Op Members, Give Voice, prevent Spam Flood, and many other variety of things IRC can do. :3 The Shoutbox at the moment seems very nice for the time being anyway, that is if you can get the colors to match the background. :3

Wouldn't it be nicer if the Usernames had a little more Color into them? here's what I had in mind :]

not sure how phpBB forums work ^^; but I think you can do it by editing the Group Names where you first changed the colors for each member groups :3 in the text fields where you've put

Code:: [color=ff00d9] The Alpha [/color]

which makes it output -> The Alpha The Text Field is what contains the name of the Group Names. If I knew what the Group Field Names looks like It help to explain more. ^^;

Thing is its not written into the css, its done by a plugin.

ah ^^; well I guess there might be a way to have a plugin to change that, but I don't really know, since I don't know how phpBB works. ^^;

Well to be honest ive never seen it done with this forum coding. Though hopefully one day if membership kicks up i will upgrade to VB ir IPB, but to be honest I really like PHBB2. Yu can personalize it really well.

Well I could wait when things pick up more :3 you don't have to include it in this current update :3

There is one other thing I would like to see in Update, it's about the Topic Titles… Could you find a way to remove the Character Limit for Topic Titles so we're not constrained to making a Topic Title with at least 10 - 255 Characters, it's kinda annoying in a way, especially for topics that are only 4 or 5 words long. :/

Here are my thoughts::
Blog
I think having a blog would be excellent.
It would be a place sort of for all of THEIR individual items, You could follow friends, Follow people with important things that you find interesting. Or if there is someone you just adore, You can stalk their blog. 8D
I think its a great idea for people to be more connected with others.
Sort of like a mini Tumblr.
Make it customizable.

Groups
Great idea.
A little place for people to share things strictly with their clan/group.
They can have their own names, Leaders, emblems, ect.ect.
Irl friends, or just people that you have grown fond of, Join together and 'rule the community' Haha.

Here's a handy feature idea :3

You could try implementing Twitter name tags with the '@' sign so say for example you're pointing to someone's twitter name like @Twitter it links you to that name and you can click on it to go strait to their page, you can add it into the BBCode which can work pretty nicely :3 it be like this…

Code:: [twitter] Twitter [/twitter] hint: {insert a name tag}

Which outputs '@Twitter'
